Welcome!

The University of Iowa would like to extend a warm invitation to all teams and their fans to attend the Iowa Intensity NCVF Ranking’s Tournament B Team Tournament, held February 27th, 2016. The tournament will be hosted at the Historic Field House in Iowa City, with free parking for the tournament available at Kinnick Stadium, next door to the Field House. Iowa is nicknamed the heartland of America – many major interstates and highways pass through, directly connecting Iowa to a vast number of cities across the United States. If your team is considering making the trek from a faraway land – don’t worry – Iowa City is well worth the drive. If Iowa is the heartland, then Iowa City is the heartbeat.

Our city offers a wide variety of entertainment for the masses. The Downtown community openly embraces its campus by offering a wide variety of cuisine, music, shopping, dancing, and fun to show your team and fans how to live it up the Hawkeye way! Explore the downtown Pedestrian Mall to find your fill of food and drink, art, culture, dancing and live events. If your legs aren’t too tired from playing all day, the Coral Ridge Mall is only a hop, skip, and a jump away!  Offering over 50 retail stores, a 10-screen movie theater complex, a large antique carousel, The Iowa Children’s Museum, and an ice skating rink, Coral Ridge Mall has something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Iowa City takes great pride in its campus – we all bleed black and gold. Everywhere you turn there’s a super fan willing to lay down their life – or at least their vocal chords – to cheer on their school to victory! Sometimes, to take your team’s play to the next level requires a little extra inspiration – we encourage you to embrace Iowa’s intensity! Let the spirit and passion of a city that constantly gets swept up in the game pump up and energize your team on the court!

We look forward to seeing your team this season, and encourage you to explore for yourself everything Iowa has to offer – if you find yourself asking, “Hey, is this Heaven?” don’t worry, you’re not the first one to think that. Rest assured that “No, it’s Iowa.”

See you in February,

The University of Iowa Women’s Club Volleyball Team
